About me

I studied Physics and ended 1998 with a Diploma (something worth a Master degree today). Instead of continuing towards a Ph.D. thesis I preferred to work with a friend at a Software Vendor, my minor study of Computer Sciences and my personal experience with programming gave a good foundation as a software developer, too. Technically it started with Perl knowledge which was missing the foremost company Setmics and which were necessary for the customer Jungheinrich (Machining Manufacturer).

1999 Setmics lifted off via a big contract with Beiersdorf for the department Research & Development - die product development of world famous cosmetics articles.

Beiersdorf introduced me to Microsoft Visual Foxpro as Allround Tool for business applications and I became Microsoft Developer MVP in 2007. The title remained with me until 2010, when Microsoft shut down the VFP branch in the MVP program 2 years after the discontinuation of VFP. Besides FoxPro I also learned other technologies in the past 15 years, mainly MS SQL Server and MS Office automation, also worked with the Open Source Stack, PHP and MySQL, obviously including HTML/CSS and Javascript for Websites, Intranet applications und finally anything allowing any SQL dialect.

Profit from my analysis experience from such a complex working environment, as Beiersdorf represents it. I repeatedly make the experience, the requirements analysis phase alone helps to turn down "business myopia" through the necessity of specifications and explanations and the outside view I can add to get to a practical solution, even if you have on own IT department.
